Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy covers Stratus Studios projects: the software products that Stratus Studios LLC builds and runs. It does not cover the Stratus Studios consultancy or its client work.
1. Products
Each product has its own Privacy Policy. The policy of a product governs that product. This page describes what the products have in common. If this page and the policy of a product differ, the policy of the product applies.
- Sealpress: Terms of Service, Privacy Policy
- Flatpack: Terms of Service, Privacy Policy
2. Who we are
Stratus Studios LLC ("we", "us") operates the products and is responsible for the personal data described here.
For privacy questions and requests, email privacy@stratusstudios.com. For anything else, email support@stratusstudios.com.
3. What we collect
- Your designs. The products run in your browser. Without an account, your designs stay in your browser's storage. A product sends a design to our servers to calculate it or to export it. The servers do not keep it, except for the records described under Saved designs, Free downloads, and Purchases.
- Account information. If you create an account, we collect your email address, a name, and your password, which we store only in hashed form. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and Google account ID from Google.
- Saved designs. While you are signed in, we save designs to your account.
- Free downloads. When you export a design free, we keep a record of that design, linked to your account or, without an account, to your browser.
- Purchases. If you buy a pass or a plan, Stripe, our payment processor, collects your payment details on its own page. We do not store your card details. We keep a reference to your customer record at Stripe, your passes and your plan, and which designs each pass covers.
- Usage and diagnostic data. We collect information about how the products are used and how they perform, such as export events, errors, and load times.
- Logs. Our servers and network keep logs of requests, which include IP addresses and your browser type.
- Emails. We send account emails, such as verification and password reset codes. Our email provider records whether these emails are opened and whether their links are clicked.
4. How we use it
- To provide the products, your account, and your saved designs.
- To count your free designs, sell passes and plans, apply them to your exports, and handle refunds and disputes.
- To send account emails.
- To keep the products secure, to make sure that they work, and to find and fix errors.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Where the GDPR or the UK GDPR applies, we rely on performance of our contract with you for your account, saved designs, purchases, and account emails, and on our legitimate interests for usage data, logs, and security.
5. Cookies and browser storage
We use only the cookies needed to sign you in and to remember that you used your free download. We use no analytics or advertising cookies. The products save data in your browser's storage, such as your designs. To remove it, clear the product site's data in your browser.
6. Service providers
We use service providers to run the products:
- a cloud hosting provider, for hosting and backups, in the United States
- an email delivery provider, for account emails
- Google, only if you choose Google sign-in
- Stripe, our payment processor, for payments, passes, and plans
If you use a product from outside the United States, we transfer your data to the United States.
7. How long we keep data
- Account information and saved designs: while your account is open. When you delete a design or your account, we delete it. Some products first keep it for a short period, so that we can restore it if you ask.
- Purchase records: while your account is open. When we delete your account, we also delete our purchase records and your customer record at Stripe. Stripe keeps its own payment records.
- Free download records: while your account is open. Without an account, as long as we need them to count free downloads.
- Usage data and logs: for a limited period, for operations and security.
- Backups: deleted data can stay in backups for a limited period before the backups expire.
- We can keep some security and audit records longer, such as a history of account changes and network logs.
8. Your choices and rights
- You can use the products without an account.
- You can change your email address and password, and delete your account, in each product under Account.
- You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data by email to privacy@stratusstudios.com.
EEA and UK. You also have the right to restrict or object to our use of your data, to data portability, and to complain to your data protection authority.
California. You have the right to know what we collect, and to delete and correct it. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we will not treat you differently because you use your rights.
9. Children
The products are not for anyone under 16. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16, we delete it.
10. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your data, for example encryption in transit. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
11. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change is material, we tell account holders by email.
